Just as everyone thought this deal was sealed, it has barreled into a road block. The Phoenix Suns proposed muti-team deal to send Robin Lopez and Hakim Warrick to the New Orleans Hornets and for the Suns to receive Syracuse product Wesley Johnson and a projected lottery pick has been halted with the issue of getting the NBA’s approval.
If the NBA does not approve the transaction, Robin Lopez would likely sign back with the Suns for a one-year contract and become a restricted free agent at the end of next season. The deal would also send retired center Brad Miller’s $800,000 contract to the Suns after Miller announced his retirement at the end of last season.
This trade could bolster the NBA-owned Hornets low post with Lopez and Warrick patrolling the block. We will just have to wait and see what happens in the next 24 hours and keep it here at Swish Generation for more updates on this potential trade.
