Selby and Lillard are Summer League Co-MVP’s

The one and done Kansas product Josh Selby and Weber State (Yes, I name-dropped Weber State) alum Damian Lillard were named Co-MVP’s of this year’s NBA Summer League. Now, I know that this only a Summer League and with the Olympics there were not many stars playing but these men came to play.

Selby averaged 27.5 points per game and shot nearly 60% from the floor with the Memphis Grizzlies, in addition to shooting over 70% from three point range.

While Damian Lillard may not be a household name to causal fans yet, he soon will be. The Blazers guard marked his Summer League campaign with a 31-point show against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday in a 84-74 win. Lillard averaged 26.5 points per game just under Mr. Selby. It is only the Summer League but these boys could be lighting it up in the league come October.
